It’s mainly stable snow, but it is possible to trigger small avlanches in steep terrain. Keep a safe distance to cornices and glide cracks.

Persistent weak layer (slab avalanches)

You can easily trigger avalanches on a few steep slopes. Avalanches are relatively harmless to people, but can knock you off balance. Can be dangerous close to terrain traps. (size 1) Remote triggering is possible.

Det ligg nysnø i fjellet etter snøfall i helga. I skuggefullt terreng i høgda er det framleis tørr snø. Sola har påvirka snøen i solsidene.

Det gamle snødekket er generelt stabilt og i stor grad smelteomdanna, bortsett frå i nordsider på dei høgaste toppane.

Snøgrensa går langt høgare i sørvendt terreng enn i nordvendt.

Vêrforholda siste tid før snøfallet ga høve for kantkorndanning i overflata.

Little to no precipitation. Breeze from northwest. -12 °C to 0 °C at 1400 m a.s.l. Partly cloudy.

Avalanche risk assessment

I fjellet kan fokksnøflak fra helga og nysnøen fra tirsdag påvirkes i noen få heng. Det har vært forhold for dannelse av kantkorn på det gamle harde snødekket og der det ligger tynne fokksnøflak over, vil disse være lette å løse ut. Det har sannsynligvis kommet mest nysnø i Nordfjord.

Hvis sola kommer frem vil den siste snøen bli våt og det kan bli lett å løse ut løssnøskred.

Glideskred kan løsne hele døgnet der snødekket glir på glatt underlag. Unngå opphold under glidesprekker.
